Iowa Weather Forecast
Breezy conditions are forecast Tuesday as a cool front moves across Iowa. Ahead of the front, winds will be from the southwest at 15-25 MPH. Behind the front winds will turn to northwest, and will increase in the afternoon particularly across northern Iowa, where speeds of 25-30 MPH are forecast with higher gusts. With dry conditions continuing this may lead to elevated fire weather concerns, however most surface fuels are green. Meanwhile, scattered light showers are also expected on Tuesday and a few storms are also possible. A strong storm or two is possible in southeastern Iowa, but overall the severe weather potential is limited.
