Catherine has had a love for weather since she was a child and has a unique eye for seeing the incredible beauty in the different types of weather that form in Iowa and the nation’s heartland.
Catherine attended Southwestern Community College in Creston in 2009, before moving to Dallas for short time. In Texas, she was able to witness storms in the southern part of tornado alley. But Iowa eventually called her home.
Being a part of Iowa’s small town and rural family-oriented lifestyle gives Catherine a strong connection to the people of our state, and she brings that relationship to our social media pages where she helps moderate and answer messages or questions to ISCN.
On severe weather days she also serves as a navigator to lead forecaster Zach Sharpe and drone pilot Todd Rector, and also operates different camera angles in the ISCN storm chaser to bring you the best coverage possible when severe weather strikes.
