KCRG and KWQC partnership

DES MOINES, Iowa – ISCN is proud to announce a new contract agreement with two Gray Television stations in Iowa, which will provide KWQC in the Quad Cities, and KCRG in Cedar Rapids with exclusive local storm chasing coverage.

When severe weather is impacting Iowa, both stations will have unique access to live video and trained storm chasers out in the weather, giving viewers a new way to stay ahead of severe weather.

The Iowa Storm Chasing Network, launched in 2008, includes 12 trained storm chasers with an average of more than ten years apiece of chasing storms.

“Working with local TV stations allows us to fulfill our goals of keeping Iowans safe,” Iowa Storm Chasing Network president Zach Sharpe said. “It made complete sense teaming up with the KCRG weather team and KWQC weather team to get our severe weather coverage to as many people as possible.”

Both stations will be able to take ISCN’s live video feeds from inside severe systems both on-air and online and be able to put their meteorologists live on-air to describe what is happening at that very instant near the storm.
