Each Storm Chaser is equipped with wifi, multiple computer sources that can track storms on radar, and webcams to send back live pictures of storms as they happen.
Tornado Safety:
- In open country, find a ditch or culvert and lie down flat. Cover your head with your hands for protection.
- In homes or small buildings, go to the basement or to an interior room on the lowest floor like a hall or bathroom closet. Use heavy furniture for shelter or cover yourself with a blanket. Stay away from windows.
- In mobile homes or vehicles, go to a designated shelter. If there is no shelter, leave and find a ditch or culvert and lie flat. Never try to outrun a tornado by automobile.
- If you are in a school or shopping center, go to the designated shelter area. Interior halls on the lowest floors are usually the best. Stay away from gymnasiums or auditoriums.
