Widespread Frost & Freeze for Iowa By Saturday Morning

There will be a few more mild days across the state with highs remaining in the 70s and overnight lows in the 40s and 50s. By Thursday, a strong cold front will move through the state, which will drop temperatures into the low to mid-50s across the state by Friday, with some of the coldest air by Saturday morning.

Temperature forecast for Iowa on Thursday October 6th, 2022

Thursday Forecast: Highs on Thursday will be dropping throughout the state as the strong cold front passes through. Temperatures will range from the lower 70s across southeast Iowa to the upper 50s across northern Iowa. The sun will be out, but the winds will be breezy as winds gusting up to 25-mph out of the north will be likely.

Overnight low temperatures for Iowa for Thursday October 6th, 2022

Thursday Night Forecast: Overnight Thursday into Friday morning, temperatures will dip into the 30s. There will be the chance for frost across northern Iowa by Friday morning as temperatures drop into the lower 30s.

Temperature forecast for Iowa for Friday October 7th, 2022

Friday Forecast: High temperatures on Friday will be in the mid to lower 50s statewide, with some areas across northern Iowa struggling to make it to 50 degrees. The sun will be out once again on Friday, but unlike Thursday, the winds will be calm out of the north.

Temperatures for Saturday morning October 8th, 2022

Friday Night Forecast: Overnight Friday, temperatures will drop into the low 30s to the upper 20s across the state. By Saturday morning, frost and even freeze conditions are expected for a large portion of Iowa.
